Nông Trại Cún Puppy Farm Đà Lạt: A Must-Visit for Animal Lovers

If you’re an animal, flower, and cute photo spot lover, then there’s one place that keeps popping up everywhere — Nông Trại Cún Puppy Farm. But is it actually worth visiting, or is it just another overhyped tourist attraction?

Let’s take a proper look at what Puppy Farm Đà Lạt is really like, what you can expect, and whether it deserves a spot on your itinerary.

What is Nông Trại Cún Puppy Farm Đà Lạt?

Nông Trại Cún Puppy Farm is one of Đà Lạt’s most popular attractions, especially for families, couples, and anyone who loves animals. Located around 8–9 km from the city centre, the farm is easy to reach by taxi, Grab, or motorbike.

Puppy Farm, despite the name’s connotation in the West, is probably what you think it suggests when viewed as a business name. This is a large farm filled with adorable, well-cared-for dogs of many breeds, but over the years, it has expanded into a full tourist complex that combines animals, gardens, agriculture, and entertainment all in one place.

You can think of it less like a simple dog farm and more like a mini theme park with a countryside vibe.

A Paradise for Dog Lovers

Naturally, the main highlight of Puppy Farm is, of course, the dogs. The farm is home to over 100 dogs across more than 30 breeds, including popular favourites like Corgis, Huskies, Shiba Inu, and Pugs.

What makes the experience special is that you’re not just looking at them from a distance and, in fact, you can actually interact with them. Visitors are encouraged to pet, play, and take photos with the dogs, many of which are friendly, playful, and used to human interaction.

Something many foreigners probably don’t understand is how little interaction many local Vietnamese have with certain dog breeds. Westernised dog ownership of treating dogs as family companions rather than working animals or food sources really only began in Vietnam in the mid-2000s. So while some foreigners might see it as gimmicky and not particularly impressive from a Western perspective, it is, in fact, a truly unique opportunity for the local Vietnamese, changing perspectives on dogs.

More Than Just Puppies

If the dogos don’t particularly inspire you, then not to worry, as Puppy Farm offers much more than that. Over time, the farm has introduced a variety of other animals, turning it into a small petting zoo.

At the farm, you can also find alpacas, mini ponies, rabbits, camels, goats, and hamsters. These animals are well cared for, have plenty of space to move around, and are equally popular for photos and interactions, especially with children.

The variety helps keep the experience interesting, as you’re constantly moving between different sections of the farm rather than staying in one area.

Stunning Flower Gardens

One of the most underrated parts of Puppy Farm is its beautifully designed flower gardens. Covering nearly 2 hectares, the gardens stretch across rolling hills, creating colourful landscapes that feel straight out of a postcard.

You’ll see a mix of flowers such as Hydrangeas, Cosmos, Asters, and Salvias. The combination of flowers, pine trees, and mountain air gives the entire place a very “Đà Lạt” feel, being calm, scenic, and slightly romantic.

If you enjoy photography, this is honestly one of the best spots for natural, vibrant shots without needing to try too hard, and like many photogenic spots in Vietnam, they offer mirrors (slightly dirty as they may be) that offer a nice romantic photo opportunity.

Just one thing to keep in mind. While the dog section of the park is indoors with plenty of shade, the outdoor area has little to none, particularly in the flower fields, so suncream, hats, water, umbrellas, etc., are a must.

Strawberry Farms & Agriculture Experience

Another unique feature of Puppy Farm is its agricultural side. The farm grows strawberries, tomatoes, cacti, succulents, and other produce using modern farming techniques, and visitors can explore these areas during their visit.

In some cases, you can even pay to pick fresh strawberries yourself, which adds a fun, hands-on element to the experience. It’s a nice contrast to the animal areas and gives the farm a more authentic, countryside feel rather than just being a photo attraction.

Activities & Entertainment

Puppy Farm isn’t just about walking around — there are also a few activities to keep things fun. One of the most popular is the giant colourful slide, which winds through the hillside and offers a bit of excitement alongside the scenic views.

There are also open spaces, walking paths, and plenty of areas to relax, making it easy to spend a few hours here without feeling rushed. Most visitors spend around 3–4 hours exploring the farm, which feels about right.

Opening Hours & Ticket Prices

Puppy Farm is open daily from around 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, making it easy to fit into your day.

As for ticket prices:

Adults: ~100,000 VND

Children: ~50,000 VND

Young children: Free

Considering how much there is to see and do, it’s actually quite affordable compared to many other tourist attractions.

What Visitors Love (and Don’t Love)

Like most popular attractions, Puppy Farm gets a mix of feedback.

The Good

  • Friendly, adorable animals
  • Beautiful, well-maintained gardens
  • Plenty of photo opportunities
  • Family-friendly atmosphere

Many visitors describe it as a fun, relaxing place with lots to explore.

The Downsides

  • Can get crowded, especially on weekends
  • Some concerns about animal welfare
  • Slightly “touristy” in parts

If you’re someone who prefers quieter, more natural experiences, it’s worth visiting early in the morning or on a weekday.

Tips for Visiting Puppy Farm

To make the most of your visit, here are a few simple tips:

  • Go early to avoid crowds
  • Wear comfortable shoes (there’s a lot of walking)
  • Bring cash if you want to buy snacks or produce
  • Charge your phone — you’ll take a lot of photos
  • Be respectful around animals

Also, keep in mind that the best time to interact with the dogs is usually during the day when they’re most active.

Is Puppy Farm Đà Lạt Worth Visiting?

So, is it actually worth it?

For most people, I would say so.

Puppy Farm offers a really nice mix of experiences of cute animals, scenic views, fresh air, and fun activities. Rather than just a quick stop, it’s somewhere you can genuinely spend a few hours enjoying yourself.

That said, it’s not for everyone. If you’re not interested in animals or dislike crowded tourist spots, you might prefer other attractions in Đà Lạt. But if you enjoy relaxed, feel-good experiences (and let’s be honest — who doesn’t love puppies?), it’s definitely worth adding to your itinerary.

Final Thoughts

Nông Trại Cún Puppy Farm Đà Lạt is one of those places that perfectly matches the vibe of the city — peaceful, playful, and just a little bit magical.

Whether you’re cuddling a Husky, wandering through flower fields, or picking strawberries on a cool mountain morning, it’s the kind of experience that feels simple but memorable.

And sometimes, that’s exactly what travel should be about.
